Does Wapp cover me on cruises?

Leisure cruises can be covered with Wapp.

Cruises are only covered where you are a fare paying passenger travelling on an ocean or river cruise ship or boat operated only for the purpose of leisure cruises.

What type of cruise cover does Wapp provide?

On-Trip Cover is the standard level of protection you get with Wapp.

This covers your possessions and emergency medical and repatriation costs, including if you get Covid on holiday. With the Optional Monthly Subscription, you can cover cancellations and cutting short your trip. You can also add cover for changes in FCDO travel advice.

There are no additional cruise benefits such as missed cruise port cover. See our policy documents for more details on what you can be covered for.

Does Wapp cover me if I need to cancel my cruise?

To be covered for cancellations, you’ll need to add Cancellation Cover to your policy. This is an optional extra which is part of the Optional Monthly Subscription.

You can add the Optional Monthly Subscription when you set up your account. You’ll then be covered if you need to cancel or cut short your cruise, including if you get Covid in the 14 days before you travel. See our policy documents for more details.

How far in advance can I be covered for my cruise?

You can be covered for cancellations on leisure cruises as soon as you set up your Optional Monthly Subscription to include Cancellation Cover.

If my cruise itinerary changes, do I need to tell you?

As your cover with Wapp starts automatically when you’re abroad, you don’t need to tell us where you’re going, or if plans change.

You can travel with cover as long as the FCDO says it’s safe to travel to your destination, and your trips last no longer than 35 days (up to a total of 183 days abroad in a 12 month period).
